During pregnancy, women tend to feel the discomfort of using a seat belt as the pressure of it digging into the abdomen would be not is welcomed. Try to avoid stretching the seatbelt across your belly and position the lap belt below your belly to ease yourself from the strain of the belt digging into your when the you hit the brakes. It is important that you do not have the seatbelt tight across your belly as sudden blows would harm the baby.

Keep the temperature in the car warm to avoid using any thick clothing’s that would position the seatbelt to be stretched across your belly. It is also important that you are comfortable in the position of the car before heading off as if the seatbelt id not secured then it could be dangerous in any case of accidents. Your sitting posture is very important in order to use the seatbelt well, if you tend to slouch inwards then the shoulder belt would dig into your neck and this can be very uncomfortable. Never make the mistake of holding on to the seatbelt as any sudden shocking movements of the car could injure your arms instead.

Make it a point to secure yourself every time before you start your journey as in the midst of driving, fidgeting with the seatbelt is not a wise idea especially for pregnant women.
